One Down

Opening night is over! It went pretty smoothly. There were a couple glitches here and there, but, overall, it was a good show. I brought down the house at one point. Go me! Anna and Tara got some footage that I'll edit together this weekend for you. It will most likely be up Sunday or early Monday.

I went over to the college apartments for a block party tonight. It was nice to finally be able to go to a party and blow of some steam. We've been working so hard and long on the show that I haven't had time to just hang out really. After maybe an hour or so, I went over to Dana's apartment with some people. We just chilled and listened to Across the Universe and some American Idol too. Tonight was a good night. Hopefully, we can keep the momentum going tomorrow night!

Off You'll Go To Urinetown

Basically, that's where I'll be until Saturday. I probably won't be blogging for the next few days due to lack of time and energy. I promise to take some video behind-the-scenes and get some great footage for you that I'll post this weekend! Till then!!

Almost There

We are so close to opening night for Urinetown! I am so excited to get this over with. It's coming along, and I think once we're running it the show will be more fun. This time last year with Cabaret we'd been doing run-throughs for a while. I'm gonna definitely record some stuff for you. I don't know where or how much, but probably two videos worth of footage.

The weather has been so nice lately. I don't think we get spring. We go from winter to summer. Whatever, I'll take it. Tomorrow I plan on lying outside and getting some color. Last year, we weren't allowed to get any color. We had to be pale as Kit-Kat girls, so we weren't allowed outside. This year is different! Yay!

I took a nap so I'm kinda hyper now. I think I'll go look for something to do!

Piano Recital

So Nice Out!

It is so gorgeous outside today. I spent about 4 hours just hanging out in the sun. So warm, so lovely. I think I got a sunburn on my face. I took my Flip with me, and I'm editing a video that I'll post later! Ciao!

Plan of Study

JSC has us do these stupid Plans of Study once we're going into Junior year. They basically map out our intended last two or so years at JSC. However, you don't really have to follow them. If you took mine and tried laying it out, I guarantee it wouldn't make any sense.

I found out today that I have to play in Diane's piano recital on Wednesday. I knew it was coming up, I just didn't know it was Wednesday. I'm playing Just a Housewife from the musical Working, and Mallory's going to sing it. I'll see if I can get Joshua to film it. If I mess up and make a fool of myself, I'm not going to post it.

I'm gonna go watch some Friends and go to bed. Good night!

Fun Times at Dana's!

I finally got around to editing the footage from Dana's house from the other night. I took a lot, so there are two parts! Enjoy!

*Foul language is used*

Part One:

FYI: The part in the library I filmed the day after Dana's, but it fit better before...

My Hair is Messed Up

I finally got a nice shower tonight! The shower head at Mallory and Kate's apartment sucks, so when Darin offered to let me into Martinetti and my room, I was like YES! So I took a shower and then hung out in my room watching TV. I put a bandanna on my head, but it pushed it back so it dried funky.

No work tomorrow! So I get to sleep in! Yay! I took a mini-nap today. It was about 2 hours, but I didn't sleep well the whole time.

I made an amazing pasta dish tonight for dinner. Last night, not so much.

I'm gonna go do something constructive... or fun...

So Tired

I am so exhausted. I don't even really know why. I got a really good night's sleep last night. Yeah, I had to wake up early, but I slept really well. Who knows?

I went over to my friend Dana's apartment last night. Mallory, Dana's boyfriend Jeremy, and our friend Darin came over too. It was fun times. We played some games, I recorded some footage. I'll edit it together soon. Now, however, I'm going to watch a movie and go to sleep.

Sing A Happy Working Song

Hey there, blog buddies!

I'm blogging at you from work today. I'm sitting up at the front desk chilling out. I just spent about an hour and a half shelving/reorganizing records. My hands are all callous-y. It's nice to have something to do at work instead of just sitting around.

Mallory and I got back to Johnson late last night. It would have been earlier except we were driving through South Royalton and Mal says "Hey, you wanta go visit Josh?" And I said "OK". So we called him and told him we were coming to his house. It was pretty much amazing. We had a great time. His little sister is adorable. We played Pass the Pigs and some video games, and then his mom made dinner for us. We were totally not expecting that, but she came over and asked us what we liked in our pasta and we were kinda caught off guard. I was thinking of taking video, but I had never met Josh's family, so I didn't wanta freak them out right off the bat. Now that I've met them I think they'd be cool with it if we ever go back. Which we should, cuz it was fun times.

Spring has finally sprung in Johnson. It's currently 66 degrees out and I am loving it! Unfortunately it's not going to be that warm for long. The rest of the week and into next is supposed to only be in the 40's and 50's. Granted, that's a hell of a lot better than 10's and 20's, but, when you take into consideration that it's also going to be rainy and possibly snowy, it's still gloomy. If it does snow, I don't expect it to stick around.

Sadly, I don't think I'm going to be able to get up to see Garrett's band perform in the Battle of the Bands at North Country. It all depends on what Mallory's plans are. I can't believe Urinetown is in two weeks. It's just unbelievable.

I worked out my tentative schedule for next semester. Depending on what day Brass Methods is held, I won't have any classes on Wednesday. It will be kinda weird to have a day off in the middle of the week, but I'll take it.

Tentative Schedule:
Child Development: Friday - 10:00-12:45.
Spanish III: Tuesday/Thursday - 11:30-12:45.
Spanish III Lab: Thursday - 2:30-3:30.
Concert Choir Vienna: Tues/Thurs - 5:30-7:00.
Pop Culture in America: Monday - 2:30-5:15.
Brass Methods: TBA.
Voice Lessons: TBD.

I'm excited to take Pop Culture, and it even meets a GECC requirement! Hopefully, Spanish III will fulfil the foreign language requirement. On the GECC tally sheet, it only mentions Spanish I and Spanish II, but I don't see why if I test into Spanish III it wouldn't count... I have to talk to the head of the department. I'm not really excited for brass methods, pretty much because I suck at playing instruments. That's why I'm a voice major... And I can't WAIT to go to Vienna. Next year is pretty much going to be amazing.

I'll be taking some video throughout the next few days. Some at Mal's apartment, some at work perhaps, definitely some outside today because it's beautiful. I'll edit it together at the end of the week for a nice vacation montage video. Now that I have the Flip, expect more video outside my room.

OK, I gotta wrap this up. It's amazing how long an entry can get when you're sitting at a desk with nothing else to do...

PS. Sorry I missed the VotW, I wasn't near a computer long enough on Sunday to track one down and post it. I'll try to get two for next weekend.

Travelin' Thru

Hey Bloggers! Sorry I haven't been around this weekend to update! Mallory and I went to my home this weekend to visit my nana. I didn't bring my laptop with me, and so I had very limited computer access.

We're now at her house in Vermont. I'll be able to blog more once we get back up to JSC. Talk to you soon!

Road Trip!

This Is Getting Ridiculous

It's been pretty nice all week, but it's snowing again today. I really don't think it will ever stop.

My nana's in the hospital again. She's doing better, she might get released tomorrow. I'm still gonna go home tomorrow. I'll probably only stay till Sunday afternoon if things are OK. Mallory's gonna come with me.

I went to the Northeast District Festival at North Country High yesterday. It was a really fun time. Not as fun as VMEA, but still good. And I got to see Garrett which was a plus.

OK, I need to go accomplish something. Like packing.

Sunshine Day

It's finally sunny out! Today was a good day. I don't even know why. Things just seem to be going really well lately.

Josh and I worked on our song for the Broadway showcase for 45 minutes today, and we sound really good. I'm so excited. Urinetown is finally not totally shitty. I don't have rehearsal tonight, so I get to see the Idol results show.

Tomorrow, I have to go up to Newport, VT for a music conference thing. I'm really excited for it though. I think it's gonna be really fun. We watched a really cool opera today in Music Theory class. Diane got her tenure! That's SO exciting!

The only kinda yucky thing is that I have a test tomorrow in Exceptional Populations... except I can't go to class because of the music conference... So I have to go down at 10:30 and take it before class. Oh well.

I'm gonna go study and enjoy life. I just can't help being happy. Hooray!

Album of the Month for April

I don't know if I've raved about this movie here yet, but if I haven't then you need to go get it. It is one of the best movies I've seen in a long time. I could probably watch it once a week. Goodness knows I listen to the soundtrack repeatedly. The music of the Beatles is reworked phenomenally. The vocals and instrumentation is astounding. I can't help but smile when I hear this music. This is one of the best soundtracks available. It's the number 6 album on iTunes right now.

Anyway, I'm off to dinner. Talk to you later.

PS. It's beautiful out today!
